Clients owned a duplex with plans to convert it into a single family residence. Turco McCarthy was hired to provide design ideas for a pricing package. With a solid existing foundation, the ground level parking scope was to convert one car garage into a two car garage and the other tenant garage into a living suite.
On the main level, walls were removed to open the floor plan, create one kitchen, living space, office and an on main primary suite.
A new second floor and roof line were added to include additional bedrooms and baths. To enhance the street presence, a porch entrance was made visible with updated windows and siding for a different architecture vocabulary.
Ultimately, the duplex was refreshed and sold “as is” instead of being converted.
