Turco McCarthy LLC was approached to generate a preliminary site plan and street face concept for City Board public approvals to subdivide, change use and zoning for a church parking lot in Decatur.
After City board approvals, the property was sold and Turco McCarthy LLC was retained as the project’s architect for design and permit document submission. The community included three single family residences, two townhouse buildings with three units each and a four unit live work townhouse building.
The neighborhood and City supported an industrial design for the live work units but requested a traditional appearance for the structures across from the neighboring residential homes. The traditional townhomes facing the single family residences were designed for community porch living while the live work units required a storefront appeal at street level.
