New Screen Porch, Interior Remodel and Front porch renovation

The project scope included several aspects relating to aging in place.  A couple near retirement wanted to bring the basement located laundry room up to the main living space.

The existing house is three steps up from the sidewalk but a flight and a half at the rear of the property.

Remodel included converting the breakfast nook into a laundry utility room with half bath, adding kitchen storage, new cabinets and an eating counter overlooking the side yard.  The eating counter area replaced an existing vestibule converting it from unconditioned space to conditioned space.

An existing rear deck was removed and replaced with a new screen porch and deck meeting the same height as the main floor rather than stepping down half a flight.

To experience easier front porch access, the stairs were moved from along the driveway to the front of the porch and yard.  The existing stairs were then enclosed with a wall to match the hundred year old brickwork.
